Downloadable eAudiobooks, eBooks, and Music

Davenport Public Library customers have access to a wide variety of digital books and music.

An eAudiobook is digital recording of a book, similar to Books on CDs. These eAudiobooks can be downloaded to your computer, portable listening device or burned to a disc. Davenport Public Library subscribes to two different eAudiobooks programs, NetLibrary and WILBOR.

NetLibrary: first create an account by visiting any Davenport Public Library location where you will set up a Netlibrary login and password. You do not need a Davenport Public Library card to use this service. Using your NetLibrary login and password, you will be able to download the content to a personal computer and transfer it to a portable listening device. You may need to install the free media center software available on the Netlibrary site in order to play the files.

WILBOR: as part of a consortium of Iowa libraries, all you need to access eAudiobooks is your Davenport Library card. The eAudiobooks from WILBOR can be downloaded to your computer, transferred to a portable listening device, or burned to a CD. You will need to download the Overdrive media software available on the WILBOR website.

An eBook is a digital full-text version of a book that can be read on a computer.  You can search and browse eBooks in NetLibrary while in the library without creating an account. If you want to access it from outside the library you will need to create an account in NetLibrary (See instructions under creating an eAudiobook account.) Click here to see Netlibrary's software requirements and compatible devices for eBooks.
