Reader Services
Matching readers with books is the focus of Reader Services. Librarians provide "Reader's Advisory", a process of advising readers what to read. When you want something good to read, you can call the Reference Desk at 326.7844 or stop by the Main Library or Branch and ask for assistance. Librarians can even create a specialized list of recommended authors and titles that can be your own unique reading guide. Try the library’s exciting new online Suggestion Service and you can get reading suggestions in the comfort of your own home!
We welcome your suggestions for items we should purchase for the library’s collection. If you know of a recently published book, CD, or DVD you would like us to purchase, please let us know by calling the reference desk or by sending us an email using the “Ask a Question” link on the left side of this page.
If you like to share your reading interests with others in the form of a book discussion group, please look under Programs & Publicity for information about Book Discussion groups.
Forthcoming Fiction – Library staff assemble a list of new fiction that will tell you what popular fiction authors have a new book coming out over the next 6 months. If you see an item you want to read you can call the reference desk and request the item be reserved for you and we’ll give you a call when it’s available.
