How & Where to Return Items

Return library materials at one of the following convenient locations.

The Library | Main

  • Interior book return
  • Drive-up book return on 4th Street

The Library | Fairmount

  • In-wall return slot in the lobby
  • Drive-up book return in the front of the building

The Library | Eastern

  • In-wall return slot in the lobby
  • Drive-up book return in the front of the building

Other

  • Davenport Hy-Vee Food Stores @ 2200 West Kimberly
  • Davenport Hy-Vee Food Stores @ 1815 East Kimberly

How to Renew Items

Most materials may be renewed for an additional loan period if no one else has reserved them. The limit is one (1) renewal per item. You may renew books & other library materials in the following ways:

Online

  1. Go to the library catalog.
  2. Click "Log In" at the top.
  3. Enter your Library Barcode and Password. (Hint: Your password is the last four digits of your telephone number.)
  4. Click on the "Log In" button.
  5. Click on the "Items Out" button.

By Phone

You must have your library card, password, and the barcodes of each item to be renewed. (Hint: Your password is the last four digits of your telephone number.) The phone numbers are:

When you call, the system gives you the option to:

  • press 2 to listen to items available for renew -- this option allows the renewal of specific items or all items
  • press 3 to renew specific items -- this option only allows you to renew specific items.

In Person

Bring items into the Library: Renew materials using the self-check machines at the Main Library, the Fairmount Branch or the Eastern Avenue Branch.
