So what are eBooks and eAudiobooks? An eBook is a digital full-text version of a book that can be read on a computer or a digital device. An eAudiobook is digital recording of a book, similar to Books on CDs. The Davenport Public Library subscribes to several services which supply eBooks and eAudiobooks for check-out:

WILBOR: All you need to access eAudiobooks and eBooks from WILBOR is your Davenport Library card. The content from WILBOR can be downloaded to your computer and/or transferred to a portable device, and, for some content, burned to a CD.  You may need to download Adobe Digital Editions or the Overdrive media software which are available in WILBOR's New to Digital Media section located in the left menu of the WILBOR website. For more information about downloading eBooks from WILBOR, check out the video tutorial on our library videos page or visit the State Library of Iowa's website and their collection of WILBOR Guides & Handouts.

Recorded Books One Click Digital: Use your Davenport Public Library card to access Recorded Books One Click Digital eAudiobooks.  Recorded Books eAudiobooks are compatible with many listening devices, including iPods.

Zinio: Zinio provides a quick and easy way for Davenport Public Library patrons to read digital copies of their favorite magazines. To get started with Zinio, you'll want to set up both a Library Collection Account and a Zinio.com Viewer Account (we suggest using the same email/password for both accounts).

Tumblebooks: Kids and Adults will enjoy this online collection of animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joys of reading in a format they'll love. Most of the books are veiwable online, with some titles also available for download to an iPad.
