Right now, The Library does not have a Social Worker on staff.

What Happened

In October 2021, The Library hired a Social Worker for 3 years using special ARPA funding.
The Social Worker left in March 2025.
We tried to hire someone new, but didn’t find the right person for the job. Funding for the job was only for 1 year, and that made it harder to find someone.

What’s Next

Library leaders are looking at other ways to offer help, including asking for new funding in 2026 and collaborating with social service partners in the community.

The Library Social Worker Can Help!

Since October 2021, The Library has had a licensed social worker available to help people in our community. The social worker can meet with you one-on-one and help with many kinds of social service needs.

The library social worker can connect you with local programs and organizations that can help with your situation. They can also offer support and speak up for you when needed.

Do you need help finding government benefits, affordable housing, or unemployment services? Are you a parent looking for resources for your family? The library social worker can help you find the right services and understand your options.

The library social worker also works with community organizations to offer helpful classes, training, and learning opportunities.
