COMING SOON: More e-books! More Digital Audiobooks! Library of Things!
Thank you to the THOUSANDS of Davenport residents who completed our recent community survey! We are excited to implement ideas you shared to ensure that the Davenport Public Library continues to connect a diverse community to resources that educate, enrich, and entertain. You overwhelmingly asked for more ebooks and digital audiobooks, and we heard you loud and clear! In order to meet this need, Davenport Public Library is excited to announce that we are QUADRUPLING our collection of digital materials by joining the BRIDGES Consortium!
Interlibrary Loans and SHAREit
As of July 1st, 2025, The Library partnered with Auto-Graphics to use the SHAREit system for interlibrary loans. Stay tuned for an updated processes! If you need any assistance requesting materials, please visit one of our libraries or call (563) 326-7832.
Main Library Renovation
In 2018, the community united to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Main Library and launched a $1.8 million public/private capital campaign aimed at renovating and revitalizing this vital public resource. The first phase of the renovation in 2020 led to improved accessibility, the establishment of dedicated study rooms, expanded meeting spaces, comfortable seating with charging stations, upgraded HVAC systems, renovated restrooms, and the introduction of The Library's first Makerspace! In October 2024, The Library commenced the second phase of the project, which includes the following enhancements:
New Children's Areas!
The Library recently embarked on an exciting campaign to bring vibrant new learning activities to the children's areas at all three Davenport Public Library locations! The first phase of the $1.2M privately-funded project was completed in November 2023 at the Fairmount Branch and Eastern Branch with the second phase completed in November 2024 at Fairmount Branch and Eastern Branch, and the initial installation of learning interactives at Main Library!
