Get Help from a Notary
Need a notary? All library locations have one! Just call ahead to make sure a notary is there. Notary help ends 30-minutes before The Library closes. Note: The Library can’t help with I-9 forms, handwritten papers, more than 5 papers, or being a witness.
What a Notary Does
A notary checks who you are and that you signed the paper on your own. A notary does not say your paper is true or legal, prove your words are true, or make your paper official.
What You Need to Bring
- A photo ID (like a driver’s license)
- Your paper (don’t sign it until you’re with the notary)
- Everyone who needs to sign must be there
Other Places to Find a Notary
If a library notary isn’t available, you can try:
- City Hall (for City business)
- Your bank
- Scott County Courthouse
- UPS Store
- Scott County Library
- Moline Public Library
- Rock Island Public Library
