Notary
Davenport Public Library provides notary service at the all three library locations during most open hours. Please call (563) 326-7832 to determine availability.
A notary only verifies the signer's identity and that the signature was made willingly and freely.
Notarization does not:
- Prove a document to be true or accurate.
- Legalize or validate a document.
- Prove a statement under oath/affirmation is true.
Patrons requesting notary service are expected to:
- Present photo identification.
- Bring their unsigned document; it must be signed in front of the notary.
- Have all signers be present at the time of notarization.
Davenport Public Library notaries are unable to assist with the following:
- I-9 forms
- Handwritten documents
- More than 5 documents
- Acting as witnesses
If a Davenport Public Library notary is not available, alternate locations include:
- City Hall revenue counter (if related to City business)
- Your bank
- Scott County Courthouse
- UPS Store
- Scott County Library
- Moline Public Library
- Rock Island Public Library
